Carolina Blume: 399 knollwood ct.
Comment: I love the landscaping of this neighborhood and cutting trees down and changing the beauty of the bridge will damage the whole environment.
Patricia LoSasso: 352 S. Circle Drive
Comments: Why would you want to ruin a beautiful area by cutting down all these trees and widening the street just so there can be more traffic and cause the area to be more dangerous for all the pedestrians and animals? Just repair the bridge and leave the road as is.
JANICE SWANSON ; 3111 BROCKWAY, PALATINE, 60067
Comments: WHY SPEND A MILLION DOLLARS NEEDLESSLY~~AND DESTROY CENTURY OLD TREES!! THIS BEAUTIFUL BRIDGE ADDS GREATLY TO THE RURAL CHARM OF THIS AREA WITH ITS CURVED LANES AND MANY TREES.
Cynthia Meegan; 4 Pine Valley Road
Comments: REPAIR the beautiful and historic Briarwood lane rather than replacing it. Please keep the beauty and safety of Briarwood lane in tact for the safety and aesthetics of our neighborhood!
JOHN SOBESKI, Jr.; 318 BRIARWOOD LANE
Comments: The state of the economy has been devastating enough on property values. The one aspect that residents could always hang on to is the charm and beauty of the neighborhood. If you straighten Briarwood and increase the speed limit, and replace the bridge with a concrete eyesore, just go ahead and change the name of the neighborhood to Plum Grove Road rather than Plum Grove Estates.
Juliann Salinas; 326 Krenz Ave., Cary, Il 60013
Comments: The bridge is a landmark, the winding streets essential for the safety all. Repair it, don't replace it! Save PGE!
Miguel Palacios; Street Address: 2077 Thorntree Ln.
Comments: Fix the bridge, leave the street as is. Don’t destroy the trees.
Justin Panther; 4 Pine Valley Road, Rolling Meadows, IL
Comments: I live in Creekside which abuts Plum Grove Estates. I am disappointed by this plan - this is a family community, and realigning the streets will increase traffic by non-area motorists...undoubtedly decreasing safety for everyone.
This is not just a question of property values, it is a question of public safety and ambience. The current bridge lends to the charming feel of the neighborhood. Replacing it with a more modern look steals from the very heart on which this development was founded.
Cheri Prescott; 413 Christina Way; Acworth, GA
Comments: I am a frequent visitor of the neighborhood and believe it would be a horrible mistake to replace this beautiful piece of architecture! The thought of taking out any trees also makes me sick to my stomach. Please, please repair the bridge!
JOHN SOBESKI, Sr.; 1888 Ashbury Lane, Inverness
Comments: The bridge is a local landmark. The trees are irreplaceable. Repair the bridge, leave God's trees alone.
Erica McPartlin; 24 N Oak St
Comments: Seriously, let's find another way to spend 1 million dollars!
Pam Samuelson: 131 S. Chester
Comments: NO NO NO the bridge is beautiful and essential to the beauty and safety of the residential area. Family's walk and enjoy the area especially the mature trees/nature views. NO to a concrete albatross!
Nancy & Bill Clemens: 228 n. green st.
Comments: Bad move and careless way just to spend money. Just repair the bridge and don' t widen it or the streets. You encourage more traffic through an upscale quiet and beautiful neighborhood.
Diane Borker: 360 Wellington
Comments: Do not realign the Briarwood lane
Ruth Ann Peters; 356 Knollwood Court
Comments: Save the beauty and uniqueness of our neighborhood. We moved here 5 years ago to enjoy this rural environment along with biking and walking.
Jan Engelen: 385 Meadow
Comments: If the bridge needs repair, fix it, but leave our property the way it has been for over 50 years .
Krista Fifield: 7 shagbark rd rolling Mdws 60008
Comments: Don't change a thing!
Dan Chapman: 377 Briarwood Ln.
Comments: With the proposed Meacham Rd. expansion, straitening Briarwood Ln. would turn this neighborhood street into an arterial roadway. This would lead to increased traffic not only on Briarwood but throughout Plum Grove Estates and Creekside. We don't have curbs in PGE and we are not designed to handle this type of traffic.
Walter Wilson: 291 briarwood lane, Palatine 60067
Comments: Many drivers travel Briarwood too fast already, endangering kids walking, on bikes, hand in hand with a parent. What about the many Moms pushing a stroller. Raise the speeds for autos???”
Marilyn Vittorini: 272 Briarwood Lane
Comments: No need to make street wider, or cut the beautiful trees, that's the beauty of PGE. We need to be safe, not a busy street, too much traffic will be very dangerous!
Miguel Palacios; 2077 thorntree ln palatine Il. 60067
Comments: Don’t destroy those trees!
Dona Reese; 1010 Pioneer Rd
Comments: Please do not cut down these beautiful mature trees just to widen a street.
Sandy Jendal, former neighbor from Forest Estates
COMMENT: As a former resident of the area, I say...SAVE THE BRIDGE! Growing up as a young girl, I would ride my bike several times a day over this beautiful bridge. Then as now, it never posed a threat to anyone...so why change the landscape with something so unnecessary? The bridge, with it's natural beauty and huge oaks are an integral part of this community, including the flora and fawna that call this place home!
